How can jobseekers be better supported towards a sector that offers sustainable employment opportunities, yet whose specific frameworks and working arrangements are still not widely understood?
In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France Travail and IPERIA—mandated by the professional branch of individual employers and home employment—have taken a new step forward in their cooperation by providing a dedicated digital tool for employment advisors. This internal platform is practical, scalable and designed for potential national rollout.

A Sector Awareness Tool to Strengthen Career Guidance

Mandated by the professional branch of individual employers and home employment, IPERIA has designed and deployed a secure private platform, hosted directly by the organisation, tailored to the operational needs of France Travail professionals in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The objective is clear: enable regional advisors to benefit from IPERIA’s in-depth sector expertise, rapidly build their understanding of the home care and domestic employment sector, and access reliable, up-to-date and immediately actionable information to support jobseekers effectively.

Why is this necessary? The individual employer sector offers long-term recruitment prospects. Yet it still suffers from partial or inaccurate perceptions. The tool developed by IPERIA highlights:
  • The realities of home-based occupations (e.g. childminders, personal care assistants, family support workers);
  • Pathways for professionalisation and qualification;
  • The skills and competencies in demand.
It enables advisors to better understand why the sector represents a viable career option—and under what conditions guidance can be provided in a secure and informed manner.

A Tool Designed for Frontline Effectiveness

In practical terms, the platform provides:
  • Pre-identified and integrated ROME occupational codes, facilitating career guidance and job matching;
  • Key talking points to present the sector clearly to jobseekers;
  • Occupational videos showcasing real-life career pathways and working conditions;
  • Guidance to identify suitable candidate profiles, based on both technical competencies and transferable soft skills;
  • A presentation of IPERIA’s role and its COEPS advisors, who support France Travail professionals;
  • A regional map of Nouvelle-Aquitaine—designed to become interactive—highlighting employability trends and labour market dynamics across territories.
The platform has been developed as a decision-support tool: user-friendly, practical and immediately operational for frontline advisors.

An Evolving and Evaluated Platform

One of the platform’s key strengths lies in its flexibility. Unlike static resources, it allows for rapid content updates in line with sector developments. A monitoring and evaluation framework has been built in to assess:
  • Advisors’ uptake and use of the tool;
  • The impact on career guidance practices;
  • Any adjustments required to optimise effectiveness.
This continuous improvement approach reflects IPERIA’s broader methodology: each partnership includes process monitoring and outcome evaluation to ensure that solutions remain aligned with field realities and workforce needs.

Territorial Cooperation Supporting Career Pathways

This regional initiative opens up wider prospects: the tool is designed to be replicable and could support other territories in strengthening guidance towards home-based occupations. The approach launched in Nouvelle-Aquitaine builds on a broader dynamic of territorial cooperation already established between IPERIA and several regional directorates of France Travail.
In Normandy, Hauts-de-France, Brittany and other regions, partnership agreements have structured joint actions, including awareness-raising initiatives, sector expertise sharing, and capacity-building for employment advisors.

These experiences have laid the foundations for a strong partnership based on complementarity and a shared commitment to securing sustainable career pathways for jobseekers. The Nouvelle-Aquitaine initiative represents a further step forward, providing an innovative operational tool dedicated to frontline professionals.

A Key Message for Employment and Training Stakeholders

Through this structuring partnership, IPERIA actively contributes to a collective ambition: positioning home care and domestic employment occupations as future-oriented careers—accessible, qualifying and attractive—while meeting the growing needs of individual employers.

Through long-term collaboration with key stakeholders such as France Travail, IPERIA supports secure career pathways, skills development and the strengthened attractiveness of the sector at national level.
