On January 5, 2023, at the Interfor training organization in Amiens, Frédéric Danel, Regional Director of Pôle emploi Hauts-de-France, France Grolin, Regional Director of FEPEM Hauts-de-France, and Baptiste Lenfant, Managing Director of IPERIA, signed a partnership agreement. The agreement aims to strengthen their collaboration in meeting the ever-growing recruitment needs of the individual employment and domestic work sectors.
Current state and outlook of domestic work in the region
In Hauts-de-France, the individual employment and domestic work sector includes more than 100,000 employees and 238,000 individual employers (representing 9% of households in the region).
Today, this sector is among the region's most high-demand sectors and offers numerous employment opportunities across various professions, such as personal carer, childcare provider, family assistant, etc.
Indeed, 60,000 positions must be filled by 2030 to replace the many retiring workers and meet the growing need for in-home support, particularly for elderly people and parents.
A tripartite partnership agreement for 2023-2026
To meet this significant employment challenge and enhance the appeal of the professions and sector, Pôle emploi, FEPEM, and IPERIA are strengthening their partnership through this agreement.A structured action plan implemented at different levels (regional, departmental, and local) will be deployed for three target audiences:
- Job seekers
- Pôle emploi professionals
- Individual employers
It aims to:
- Promote the sector's professions and professionalization programs
- Strengthen local information
- Secure the employment relationship
"As a major actor in the professionalization of the domestic work sector, we will mobilize our teams and expertise within this agreement," explains Nadège Turco, Deputy Director of IPERIA. "It's a pleasure to continue our collaboration with Frédéric Danel, who was already a driving force for our agreement in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. We sincerely thank him for his support of the sector."
This morning offered an opportunity to highlight the partnership dynamic established since 2019 by presenting the range of actions implemented throughout the region: the "model apartment" project in the North, annual regional webinars for Pôle emploi advisors, and the "Domestic work, a profession for us" project in the Somme. This key moment continued with an immersive visit to the training facilities of Interfor, an IPERIA-certified training organization.
