The Departmental Council of Nord, represented by Geneviève Mannarino, Vice President in charge of Supporting Independence, and IPERIA, the national platform for domestic work professionalization, represented by Baptiste Lenfant and Nadège Turco, General Director and Deputy Director, respectively, signed a partnership agreement today, Tuesday, February 23, 2021, to implement the carers' centers program in the Nord department.
What is a Carers' Center?
An innovative training program consisting of five three-hour sessions, the carers' center (RAVie) is based on discussions and experience sharing between personal carers, led by a specialist facilitator in this profession. Listening and dialogue enable the progression and development of new skills to support elderly or disabled individual employers better. Tailor-made, this program establishes itself in territories closest to needs and adapts to personal carers' schedules. The central theme of each center is decided collectively by participants, for example, Alzheimer's, rights and duties, nutrition and well-being.A Dynamic Domestic Work Sector in Hauts-de-France
The Hauts-de-France region has 258,563 individual employers and 115,795 employees, with the majority located in the Nord department: 107,381 individual employers and 46,253 employees. In the department, approximately 17% of APA (personal autonomy allowance) recipients and 1% of PCH (disability compensation benefit) recipients choose to become individual employers.Skills Serving Quality Care for Dependent Persons
Building on the recommendations of the Green Paper[1]—particularly regarding 'service quality' to ensure smoother pathways—the Nord Department, aims to promote user choice for direct employment while guaranteeing high-quality services. It has already established a partnership with FEPEM aimed at public communication about the direct employment model and securing the employer/employee relationship. The partnership concluded with IPERIA to implement and firmly establish the carers' centers program in the Nord department continues this approach. The carers' centers is a local training and exchange venue and a place to gather personal carers' and employers' needs.
The signing of this agreement brings the number of carers' centers in Hauts-de-France to three. CREFO, a training organization holding the IPERIA label issued by the professional branches of childcare providers and domestic employees, will ensure its operational implementation with the opening of a first cycle soon.
