The European Federation for Family Employment will present its White Paper on domestic employment in Europe on March 6 in Brussels.
As a founding member of EFFE, alongside other key stakeholders, thinkers, and experts from academia, civil society, regional representatives, and social partners from EU Member States, IPERIA contributed to this collective work, drawing on its expertise in the professionalization and recognition of occupations through skills development.
Ten proposals will be presented to the European Economic and Social Committee on this occasion. Several key themes shape these proposals: ensuring a balance between work and private life, fostering the emergence of a European sectoral social dialogue, ensuring workplace health and safety for employees, and integrating individuals who are far from the labor market.
This initiative aims to drive change before the European political deadlines in May 2019. The timing is favorable for raising awareness and making significant progress in the domestic employment sector. EFFE and IPERIA are committed to promoting a model of social innovation through employment in the industry.
With 8 million jobs across the EU, representing 4% of total employment, the sector requires a European framework that advocates for and describes it, benefiting both Member States and individual employers and employees working in domestic settings.
