Employees in the individual employment and domestic work sector sometimes face isolation and lack support in their work. They can make their voices heard during the 2021 micro-enterprise union elections to ensure representation in their professional lives. Invited to vote from March 22 to April 6, they can designate the unions to defend and advise their interests. Why vote? What are the conditions? How to proceed? Where to find the results? Here's what you need to know.
What's the Purpose of Voting?
The TPE union election allows 5 million employees from micro-enterprises and the individual employment and domestic work sector who have no representative or SEC (Social and Economic Committee), to be represented, defended, and advised by unions of their choice.- Being represented: representative unions intervene at the interprofessional level and within each professional branch to negotiate wages, working hours, bonuses, working conditions, right to training, etc.
- Being defended: The election results allow unions to appoint labor court advisors to defend employees in conflict with their employers.
- Being advised: Union representatives are also appointed to interprofessional regional joint committees (CPRI) that inform and advise employees about their work rights.
Voting is useful. The micro-enterprise union election plays a significant role in fostering effective social dialogue in France, addressing the specific interests of employees.
