Reregistration of "Family Assistant," "Dependency Personal Carer" and "Childcare Provider/Childminder" Qualifications in RNCP
It's official! France Compétences has announced the registration in the National Register of Professional Certifications of three level 3 qualifications: "Childcare Provider/Childminder," "Family Assistant," and "Dependency Personal Carer," submitted by IPERIA[1].
Michel Fourmeaux, director of IPERIA Skills Certification, welcomes this news: "The three-year reregistration of these professional qualifications marks the culmination of long-term redesigning work conducted with my team."

Over 128,000 Certifications Issued

In their original version, qualifications were created with the professional branches of childcare providers and domestic employees in 2009. For 25 years, IPERIA has issued over 128,000 certifications. So, was this resubmission a mere formality? Certainly not. Profound structural changes have transformed professional training in recent years, requiring all stakeholders to align. Despite skill block restructuring already validated in 2017, success wasn't guaranteed.

Architecture Meeting Current Needs

Redesigning work was based on provisions from the September 5, 2018, law and doctrine established by France Compétences, supported by field studies:
  • 2,700 people surveyed: employees, individual employers, jury members, experts on occupation-specific themes, etc.
  • 7 studies conducted: occupations, soft skills, digital skills and home automation, green skills, governance, care, etc.
The qualification system was restructured into skill blocks. This redesign addresses the changing needs of home-based employers while accounting for the unique nature of these employment relationships. Practically, this means all (future) employees can build pathways at their own pace and validate each occupational activity through skills certification.

The qualifications "Childcare Provider/Childminder," "Family Assistant," and "Dependency Personal Carer" aim to best meet individual employers' new expectations and promote qualified person placement. "Their RNCP reregistration is a new step that should lead to the further recognition of domestic work (future) employees' skills," concludes Baptiste Lenfant, IPERIA Managing Director.
