With 6 million inhabitants (9.3% of the national population), Hauts-de-France is France's third-most populated region and one of the youngest (1 in 5 residents is between 15 and 29 years old). Its birth rate is above the national average.
Aware of the connection between high birth rates and childcare options, the region supports parents returning to work and the professionalization of childcare providers and childminders. This region has 262,000 individual employers and 119,000 domestic workers (childcare providers, childminders, personal carers, and family assistants).
On May 24, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., the professional branches of childcare providers, individual employer employees, and IPERIA organized a networking lunch to discuss perspectives for childcare providers and childminders. The lunch discussion will focus on emerging pedagogical practices, including soft skills, RPL, language skills, and the "disability specialization," a new certification program aimed at better qualifying professionals to support adults and children with disabilities.
Three key early childhood experts in the region participated in this event: Lydie Poncet, trainer and founder of a Shared Childminding Facility; Jérôme Marcel, trainer and consultant; and Laurence Georges, President and founder of the Envol'Meuse association.
