As a certifying body, we work to facilitate access to certification pathways for training organizations and equip them as best as possible. Our objective is to improve our support continuously. With this in mind, we have implemented logistics enabling organizations to simplify remote examination administration while securing applications—a challenge made possible through reliable and sophisticated tools. Here are the explanations.

A tool to facilitate examination administration

The training organizations we work with requested that the evaluation procedure be optimized by making it available remotely. For this, we needed to find the right tool. In this context, we partnered with TestWe, a French actor and European leader in online examinations and certifications. An initiative led by the certification management.

Thus, since January, interested training organizations can offer our certifications remotely with an advanced surveillance system: identity verification and securing the workroom and desk. This guarantees optimal examination conditions while meeting the rules defined by “France Compétences”.

This new asynchronous mode eliminates logistical barriers (room booking, proctor schedule management), geographical barriers (travel), and candidate availability constraints. As a sector certifying body, it is also our role to facilitate our partners' optimization of these aspects (logistics, etc.) while guaranteeing process and results.

A highly controlled implementation

E-proctoring, which means monitoring by artificial intelligence instead of humans, cannot be improvised. We have, therefore, designed detailed specifications for training organizations interested in the system. They provide all the details and tools necessary for implementing strict supervision.

Candidate also have very precise instructions, allowing them to organize the expected examination conditions: confirming their identity of course (facial recognition and official identity document) but also certifying that their environment perfectly meets the requirements expected during an examination (filming their desk which must be clear, being alone in the room, having no documents within reach, etc.). The candidate must not leave during the assessment or disappear from the screen. The rules are very strict.

The software then analyzes this data, validating the identity and examination conditions, invalidating them, or expressing reservations. The training organization retrieves the videos, views them if necessary, and transmits the results to IPERIA, which in turn conducts a verification.

These remote examinations are not suitable for all assessments. They only work for digital and written situation studies.

Stéphanie Le Penven, head of the Certification Management service, provides an initial assessment: "This new mode is well received by organizations already implementing it. For us, it's an additional role, both organizational and operational, but it's the future!"
