A team at the heart of certification
To support professionalization, IPERIA brings together many experts. Among them is the Certification Management team that supports training organizations and (future) employees. What is its role? Answer with Stéphanie Le Penven, department manager.

Tell us about your department

The department consists of 6 certification assistants, 4 skills assessment officers, and myself, the manager of this team. I took over the department nearly 7 years ago, when IPERIA set the goal of implementing certification through a skills-based framework in 2016.

An entire logistics system needed to be reviewed, a complete change in management implemented, and administrative engineering implemented.

What are your missions and those of your colleagues?

On one side, certification assistants support training organizations throughout certification activities. They are also in contact with candidates to facilitate their certification pathway. On the other hand, skills assessment officers lead the juries that conduct certification either through training or through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and are responsible for their proper conduct. They orchestrate interviews with candidates to validate their skills. To this end, they are assisted by jury members (domestic employees or individual employers) whom they must support and train in their mission.

How does this department create an impact within IPERIA?

We are here to facilitate access to certification pathways for training organizations and to equip them as best as possible. Our objective is to improve these tools continuously. We also work to optimize procedures to limit document exchanges, free up time, and focus more on support and quality.

What makes you most proud of your mission within IPERIA?

It's extremely encouraging to see teams flourish. They have multiple responsibilities, and the pace is sustained.

It's also a source of pride to raise awareness about the professions and sectors among training organizations and show that as a Certifying body, we know how to achieve both quantity and quality.

Our watchwords are benevolence and responsiveness, both with training organizations and candidates during juries. We all aim to continuously improve our support and that of candidates.

What are your major current or upcoming projects?

The new RPL promises to be particularly intense in 2024 and will impact us. It will mean more applications and, therefore, files to process, juries to organize, and candidates to meet.

The Lab Migration developing in the regions will also affect our department's activity since IPERIA offers an integrative professionalization pathway and comprehensive support within this experiment.

Our IT department is developing a certification management tool. It will allow us to manage all projects, current ones and new missions.

Are you currently recruiting for your department? If so, give us one or two arguments that would make people want to join you?

We are recruiting a Skills Assessment Officer for the western region of France (Angers, Le Mans, Tours, Evreux). This is a fulfilling profession rich in encounters, experiences, and skills. It's open to all those who enjoy fieldwork, as it requires frequent travel, and who appreciate contact and human interaction.
