The new certification and training programs, designed by IPERIA on behalf of the professional branches of childcare providers and individual employer employees, finally reveals all its secrets. Years pass, but the ambition remains unchanged: empowering people with their professional development and building it at their own pace. So, is this 2021 offering an evolution or a revolution? What are the notable changes? What new features enhance it? Qualifications, blocks, modules: we tell you everything.
Qualification Re-registration: Source of Major Developments
Last June, the Level III qualifications "Childcare Provider/Childminder," "Dependency Personal Carer," and "Family Assistant," for which IPERIA is the certifying body, were re-registered in the National Directory of Professional Certifications for three years. Their competency block structure was redesigned in light of the profound structural changes that have transformed the vocational training landscape in recent years, the evolving needs of individual employers at home, and the unique nature of the trust-based employment relationship.
Having taken the turn toward restructuring qualifications into skills blocks since 2017, this isn't a revolution but rather several evolutions:
- Eight skills blocks for each qualification instead of the previous seven, with hourly volumes better aligned with training entitlements for employees and job seekers, enabling them to build and secure their professional development over the years.
- The concept of personalization in support and services offered is strengthened, featuring concretely in several blocks.
- Beyond technical skills, behavioral skills and those related to technological and ecological developments play a more significant role. The certification framework identifies and assesses three behavioral and transferable skills: autonomy, adaptability, and relational capacity.
New Qualifications, But Also New Training Modules!
In line with the professionalization policy of the individual employment and domestic work sector, the certification (qualifications and blocks) and training programs (modules) are developed simultaneously by IPERIA.The training design teams reviewed all training modules and assessed new needs alongside the qualification restructuring. Thirsty-four new modules have enhanced the training programs. These modules aim to enable employees to develop related skills, perfect their expertise, specialize, or address more specific topics. Three complementary modules, "Manufacturing eco-responsible cleaning products," "Organizing with a spreadsheet," and "Analysis of professional practices: approach and sessions," are common to all four occupations.
In summary, the new training and certification options include:
3 Level III professional qualifications: "Childcare Provider/Childminder," "Dependency Personal Carer," and "Family Assistant," providing the key competencies needed to practice these occupations immediately.
16 skills blocks, including four standards for all three qualifications. Each block leads to the acquisition of specific skills related to the occupation.
124 training modules to update or deepen knowledge and develop specific skills.

Access and Funding: Several Possible Routes
Training modules are accessible to employees using their 58 annual hours under the skills development plan. Note that this is available from the first hour worked, and pay is maintained during training, even if it exceeds usual working hours.Employees can also use their skills development plan and personal training account for certification. If they have sufficient experience, they can choose another route, Recognition of Prior Learning, to certify their skills and obtain a qualification.
Job seekers should contact a Pôle emploi advisor for funding block or full qualification certification.> To discover these new programs and practical arrangements in detail, visit www.iperia.eu
