On April 26 in Paris, IPERIA signed a regional agreement in Île-de-France with Pôle Emploi and FEPEM, three months after contracting with the same partners in the Hauts-de-France region. These tripartite agreements aim to support domestic work, responding to individual employers' needs. They highlight IPERIA's key role in promoting the recognition, professionalization, and attractiveness of sector professions.

Domestic work professions: a sector under significant pressure

In France, 800,000 jobs* must be filled in the individual employment and domestic work sector by 2030. In the Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France regions, where IPERIA, Pôle Emploi, and FEPEM have already signed partnership agreements, the numbers are very high: 265,000 employees and 630,000 individual employers (12.6% of households in the region) and more than 151,000 positions to be filled by 2030 in Île-de-France. Hauts-de-France has over 100,000 employees and 238,000 individual employers (9% of households in the region), with 60,000 positions to be filled by 2030. In this context, it is urgent to address the massive need for aging support and home care services and compensate for childcare providers' mass retirement.

Concrete actions supporting domestic work

Each partnership signing has been accompanied by practical implementation. Thus, in January, in Hauts-de-France, job seekers were invited to participate in an immersive visit to the training facilities of Interfor SAS, an IPERIA-certified training organization. In Île-de-France, on April 26, an introductory workshop about sector professions was offered to about ten job seekers through a group quiz. A discussion session between participants and agreement signatories provided valuable feedback. Jean-Pascal and Ivana, who are changing careers, expressed their attraction to these people-focused professions and their desire for more clarity about the sector's different professions. As for Dimitri, who already has experience in home support, he encouraged all workshop participants to enter this empathetic and "fulfilling" sector while wanting to develop his skills. Nadège Turco, Deputy Director of IPERIA, reacted to these testimonials: "Candidates come to the sector for the human connection. That's the attractiveness we need to work on".

Common strategic axes between IPERIA, Pôle Emploi, and FEPEM

The partnership agreements between IPERIA, Pôle Emploi, and FEPEM facilitate the synergistic combination of their respective expertise. This collaboration creates synergy between actors who share a common interest and is based on four strategic axes:
  • Promote recruitment in high-demand professions in the domestic work sector
  • Strengthen the sector's professional attractiveness
  • Support professionalization and skills development
  • Support job seekers' return to employment

Professionalization, attractiveness, and skills recognition

As a major actor in the professionalization of the domestic work sector, IPERIA mobilizes its teams and expertise to promote this attractiveness and better skills recognition. Its professionalization policy is realized through 8 recognized certifications, including three professional qualifications identifying the sector's primary professions: childcare provider/childminder, family assistant, and personal carer. 
Another challenge, as Nadège Turco pointed out on April 26, is "the need to broaden the audiences accessing these professions: long-term unemployed, young graduates, and young people." To attract young people, IPERIA is innovating with the implementation of apprenticeships in partnership with CFA in the sector, offering a new pathway to certification.
