The priority certification and training offering from the professional branch of individual employment and domestic work, delivered by IPERIA, has for over 25 years established the foundations of an innovative approach by combining certifying training and modular training. Accessible to all sector employees, it offers diverse pathways and encourages their skill development. For 2022, several notable innovations have been designed and developed with the University of Home Care Services' expertise in training design. Here's an explanation.
Enhanced Certification Offering with 5 New Certificates
The 2022 certification offering is being consolidated and expanded. Heralding a paradigm shift, it now comprises:- 3 level 3 professional qualifications "Dependency Personal Carer," "Family Assistant," and "Childcare Provider/Childminder," eligible for RPL and registered in the National Register of Vocational Qualifications since 2009.
- 16 skill blocks (composing the qualifications), accessible to sector employees and job seekers through the 58-hour skills development plan and/or Personal Training Account (CPF), or through specific territorial programs. They can therefore build their pathway individually, according to their professional desires and ambitions.
- 5 certificates registered in France Compétences' specific directory -- new for 2022, providing complementary skills sought by employees and aligned with individual employers' needs: "Adapting Home Care for a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorders," "Adapting Home Care for a Child Based on Their Disability," "Adapting Home Care for an Elderly Person with Cognitive Disorders," "Adapting Home Care for a Person Based on Their Motor Disability," and the Professional Qualification Certificate (CQP) "Working in Shared Childminding Facilities."
30 Additional Training Courses for Complementary Skills
In 2022, personal carers, childcare providers, childminders, and family assistants will have access to 150 modules designed by the University of Home Care Services, branch, and IPERIA partner. The new offerings include 30 training courses on certification pathway success, home coordination, and language skills. Indeed, five new modules intended for non-native and French speakers with difficulties enable language progression from levels A1 to B2, according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages, to engage new audiences in the sector and sustain their employment. Additionally, RPL support is being strengthened in French as a professional language (FLP) to secure pathways for those with the most significant language difficulties.A "Pathway Logic" to Support Occupation Attractiveness
The strengthening of the professionalization offering embodies the professional branch's desire to support occupation attractiveness and respond to current challenges and intense pressures. These pressures arise from the aging workforce, with the majority retiring by 2030, and continuously growing needs driven by demographic changes in the general population. 700,000 positions will need to be filled by 2030[1].With over 150,000 people certified, including nearly 10,000[2] certifications issued in 2020, and over 71,000² training starts in 2020 despite the health context, the sector is meeting the challenge of professional identity through innovation and widespread engagement in qualification. It is progressively becoming the measure of successful professional integration. The branch and IPERIA have adapted to emerging demands. Thus, the skills approach is becoming increasingly important. It contributes to creating a sector pathway and consolidating professional identity.
"We are following a pathway logic with perspectives for certification and skills development throughout an employee's professional life. The qualification forms the foundation of the occupation's professional identity, and with certificates, employees can add additional skills or respond to new needs," explains Camille Savre, Head of IPERIA's Certification Design Service.
This adaptability benefits both employees and individual employers. Take the example of a personal carer hired by an elderly person who has lost the autonomy to perform household maintenance and meal assistance. After a few years, this individual employee develops cognitive disorders. The employee can adapt to the situation by obtaining specific skills guaranteed by certification. The particular employer benefits from continuity of support, and the employee develops in their profession and increases their employability.
The 2022 offering will be presented to current and future employees at the Personal Services and Home Employment Show on November 23 and 24. This event marks the official launch to the general public, who can discover all the new features on www.iperia.eu.
